PRPTreatment

PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma — a regenerative hair restoration therapy where a concentrated portion of your own blood’s healing proteins (called platelets) is injected directly into your scalp. These platelets contain powerful growth factors that stimulate dormant hair follicles, extend the hair growth cycle, and improve overall hair thickness and density.

How PRP Works on Your Hair

PDGF — Platelet-Derived Growth Factor

Stimulates hair follicle cell proliferation and increases blood vessel formation (angiogenesis) to nourish roots.

VEGF — Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor

Regulates blood vessel formation around follicles, ensuring a steady nutrient supply during the active growth phase.

TGF-β — Transforming Growth Factor Beta

Regulates the hair growth cycle, preventing premature transition to the shedding (telogen) phase.

EGF — Epidermal Growth Factor

Promotes scalp skin cell renewal and improves the overall environment for follicle health and regeneration.

Step-by-step Procedure

Pre-Treatment Preparation

You'll be advised to wash your hair beforehand and avoid hair products, NSAIDs (like ibuprofen), and blood-thinning supplements (vitamin E, fish oil) for 1 week prior. Stay well-hydrated in the days leading up to your session

Blood Draw

A small volume of blood (15–25 ml) is drawn from your arm — similar to a routine blood test. Quick and minimally uncomfortable.

Centrifuge Separation

Your blood is spun in a centrifuge for 5–10 minutes to separate and concentrate the platelet-rich plasma from red blood cells and other components. This yields 3–6 ml of highly concentrated PRP.

Scalp Numbing

A topical anaesthetic cream is applied to your scalp (or a nerve block is used) to ensure the injections are comfortable and well-tolerated.

PRP Injection into Scalp

The concentrated PRP is injected systematically across targeted thinning areas of your scalp using fine needles. Each session typically takes 45–60 minutes in total.
