01What it is
Cog Threads utilize absorbable Polydioxanone (PDO) barbed threads anchored into the subdermal tissue layer to physically lift sagging facial skin and redefine structural contours. The micro-barbs (cogs) engage the tissue to provide an immediate mechanical lift along vector lines, while the thread material gradually dissolves over 6 to 8 months, stimulating neocollagenesis for sustained structural firming.
It is ideal for mild-to-moderate jowling, sagging cheeks, marionette lines, and a softening jawline. Dermatologist-led vector planning and sterile cannula placement ensure precise tissue repositioning and natural, balanced facial rejuvenation
02A session, step by step
Vector mapping and consultation
Your dermatologist evaluates facial laxity and marks precise entry points and lifting vectors across the cheeks or jawline.
Local anesthesia and sterile prep
Targeted local anesthesia is administered at entry sites, followed by thorough surgical sterilization.
Precision thread insertion
Absorbable barbed threads are guided through blunt micro-cannulas along mapped vectors to gently lift and reposition sagging tissue.
Secure, trim, and protect
Threads are engaged, trimmed below the skin surface, and entry sites are sealed with sterile dressings and protective cream.
03Aftercare
- Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ daily to protect your skin.
- Avoid wide facial movements, exaggerated smiling, chewing hard foods, or yawning broadly for 1 to 2 weeks.
- Sleep elevated on your back for 5 to 7 days to avoid putting pressure on treated areas.
- Do not massage, press, or scrub the face, and avoid facial treatments or dental procedures for 4 weeks.
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and alcohol for 7 days post-procedure.
Following the aftercare is part of the treatment. The outcome depends on it as much as on the sittings themselves.
Start with a consultation.
A dermatologist examines you, confirms whether this is right for you, and sets the plan before anything is booked.
