01What it is
Dermaplaning uses a sterile, medical-grade surgical blade held at a precise angle to manually lift away dead epidermal cells and fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). Unlike home razors or harsh chemical exfoliants, our doctor-led application removes surface build-up without tugging or irritating the skin barrier.
It is ideal for rough surface texture, dullness, fine hair removal, and prepping the skin for smooth makeup application. Vellus hair grows back with the exact same fine texture and color—it does not grow back thicker or darker.
02A session, step by step
Cleanse and prep
Skin is thoroughly cleansed, degreased, and dried completely to ensure optimal blade glide.
Manual exfoliation
A sterile surgical blade is held taut at a 45-degree angle to lift dead skin cells and peach fuzz.
Soothe and hydrate
A gentle hydrating serum and cooling mask are applied to nourish freshly exposed skin.
Protect and review
Broad-spectrum SPF 50+ is applied, and post-care guidelines for makeup and sun protection are confirmed.
03Aftercare
- Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ daily to protect freshly exfoliated skin.
- Pause retinoids, AHA/BHA exfoliants, and physical scrubs for 3 days.
- Avoid applying heavy face makeup for 12 to 24 hours to let pores stay clean.
- Avoid saunas, steam rooms, and heavy workouts for 24 hours.
- Use a mild, non-stripping cleanser and keep skin hydrated
Following the aftercare is part of the treatment. The outcome depends on it as much as on the sittings themselves.
