Fractional CO2

Laser resurfacing for acne scars and rough texture, with recovery explained up front.

Sessions

Each visit
45 to 60 min
Downtime
4 to 7 days

01What it is

Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing creates microscopic thermal channels deep in the dermis while leaving surrounding skin intact. This targeted heat triggers intense collagen remodeling, smoothing out deep-set acne scars, surgical scars, and persistent texture irregularities. Because CO2 laser energy is powerful, recovery expectations are discussed transparently prior to treatment so you can plan your downtime comfortably.

It is ideal for deep boxcar scars, ice-pick pits, coarse texture, and structural skin laxity. It requires strict post-treatment skin protection, and your dermatologist will outline a clear, staged protocol tailored to your skin tone and healing rate.

02A session, step by step

01

Prep and numb

Topical anesthetic cream is applied for 45 minutes to ensure comfort during laser delivery.

02

Targeted laser delivery

The Fractional CO2 laser delivers controlled micro-pulses across targeted scar zones to trigger collagen synthesis.

03

Cool and seal

Cold air cooling and barrier repair ointments are applied immediately to soothe heat and protect delicate channels.

04

Review

Your post-procedure barrier kit is provided, recovery stages are explained, and your follow-up check is set.

03Aftercare

  • Apply prescribed barrier ointment continuously for the first 3 to 4 days to support re-epithelialization.
  • Do not scratch, rub, or pick fine micro-crusts; let them slough naturally.
  • Avoid all direct sunlight, heat exposure, and intense sweating for 7 days.
  • Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ diligently once micro-crusts have completely shed.
  • Pause all active exfoliants, retinoids, and scented skincare for 10 days.

Following the aftercare is part of the treatment. The outcome depends on it as much as on the sittings themselves.
