01What it is
Microdermabrasion at Sikara uses fine medical-grade crystals or diamond-tip suction to gently lift away dead, built-up surface cells. Unlike harsh aggressive scrubs that create micro-tears in the skin, our clinical technique is kept light and controlled to smooth out rough texture, brighten dullness, and allow daily skincare serums to absorb more effectively.
It is ideal for clogged pores, superficial dryness, mild sun tan, and uneven texture. It is a light physical polish designed as a progressive course—not an aggressive peel—ensuring your skin barrier stays completely calm and intact.
02A session, step by step
Cleanse and inspect
Your skin is thoroughly cleansed, and your dermatologist inspects barrier health to set the precise micro-exfoliation pressure.
Controlled polish
The diamond-tip handpiece is guided across the face in smooth passes, gently vacuuming away dead surface debris and clearing pores.
Soothe and hydrate
A calming, nutrient-rich hydrating mask is applied immediately to restore comfort and lock in moisture.
Protect and review
Broad-spectrum SPF 50+ is applied, and your dermatologist confirms your home-care steps and next session timing.
03Aftercare
- Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ daily, as freshly exfoliated skin is more sensitive to sun exposure.
- Keep skin well-hydrated with a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer.
- Pause retinoids, AHA/BHA chemical exfoliants, and physical facial scrubs for 3 days.
- Avoid direct sunbathing, saunas, and intense workouts for 24 hours.
- Do not pick or rub any temporary dry patches; allow the skin to settle naturally.
Following the aftercare is part of the treatment. The outcome depends on it as much as on the sittings themselves.
