01What it is
Dark Lip or Pigment Neutralisation is a specialized color-correcting semi-permanent micropigmentation technique designed to cancel out cool, purple, brown, or hyperpigmented undertones in the lips or previously microbladed eyebrows. By applying warm, complementary pigment tones (such as orange, yellow, or coral) based on color theory, dark tones are neutralized to reveal a warm, balanced, and even pink or nude base.
It is ideal for dark lip hyperpigmentation, uneven lip tones, or bluish/grayish residue from old PMU. Dermatologist-led shade matching and precise depth control prevent post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and ensure safe, predictable color correction.
02A session, step by step
Undertone and pigment analysis
Your dermatologist evaluates underlying pigment depth and melanin distribution to formulate a precise neutralizing color mix.
Topical numbing
A high-strength topical numbing cream is applied for 20 to 30 minutes to make the procedure completely comfortable.
Precision neutralizing implantation
Warm corrective mineral pigments are gently deposited into target tissue layers using micro-pigmentation techniques.
Soothing seal and review
The area is cleansed, a protective soothing healing balm is applied, and post-procedure color timeline guidelines are reviewed.
03Aftercare
- Keep the treated area clean and well hydrated using the prescribed medical healing ointment.
- Allow dry flaking skin to slough off naturally; strictly do not pick, peel, or scrub the skin.
- Avoid spicy foods, hot beverages, and acidic juices for the first 48 hours (use a straw for lips).
- Avoid direct sunlight, saunas, steam rooms, swimming, and heavy workouts for 7 days post-treatment.
- Avoid applying active retinoids, AHA/BHA exfoliants, or whitening creams on the treated zone during healing.
Following the aftercare is part of the treatment. The outcome depends on it as much as on the sittings themselves.
