01What it is
Photo Facial utilizes Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) energy to target excess melanin pigments and superficial capillary redness in the skin without damaging surrounding tissue. Broad-spectrum light pulses penetrate the epidermal and dermal layers, breaking down targeted dark spots while stimulating gentle collagen synthesis for improved overall tone and texture.
It is ideal for sun spots, freckles, post-acne erythema, vascular flushing, and generalized photo-damage. Dermatologist-led parameter adjustment ensures precise fluence and filter selection tailored to your specific skin type and pigmentation depth.
02A session, step by step
Skin evaluation and eye safety
Your dermatologist evaluates spot depth and fits dark protective eyewear before cleansing the skin.
Cooling gel application
A chilled optical gel is applied evenly across the face to conduct light energy and protect the surface barrier.
Precision light pulses
Broad-spectrum light pulses are delivered across target zones, feeling like light, mild rubber-band snaps.
Calming and protection
Cooling gel is removed, and a soothing moisturizer along with broad-spectrum SPF 50+ is applied.
03Aftercare
- Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ strictly every 3 to 4 hours post-treatment.
- Avoid direct sun exposure and wear a wide-brimmed hat when outdoors.
- Pause retinoids, active chemical exfoliants, and physical scrubs for 5 days.
- Do not pick or scratch pigmented spots if they darken or form micro-crusts before sloughing off.
- Avoid saunas, hot showers, steam rooms, and intense thermal exercise for 48 hours.
Following the aftercare is part of the treatment. The outcome depends on it as much as on the sittings themselves.
