01What it is
The Resurfacing Series at Sikara is a doctor-supervised, multi-layered chemical peeling protocol designed to smooth uneven skin texture, reduce superficial acne scarring, and refine enlarged pores. Utilizing progressively stepped concentrations of glycolic acid, TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid), or Jessner’s solutions, this graded approach safely resurfaces the upper epidermal layers while stimulating new dermal collagen synthesis.
It is ideal for rough texture, shallow post-acne indentation, fine surface lines, and stubborn sun damage. Dermatologist-led progression ensures each subsequent sitting advances in strength only as your skin adapts, minimizing risk while maximizing textural renewal.
02A session, step by step
Structural skin review
Your dermatologist evaluates scar depth and skin recovery from previous sittings to determine the appropriate peel depth for the session.
Cleansing and preparation
The treatment zone is thoroughly cleansed and degreased with alcohol to ensure deep, uniform solution penetration.
Layered peel application
Resurfacing agents are applied in precise, timed layers to reach the targeted depth under continuous clinical monitoring.
Neutralize and protect
The peel is neutralized or locked in with a restorative barrier ointment and broad-spectrum SPF 50+ to begin the repair process.
03Aftercare
- Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ daily and strictly avoid direct sun exposure.
- Keep skin constantly hydrated with a rich, dermatologist-prescribed barrier repair cream.
- Allow all flaking skin to slough off naturally; strictly do not pick, pull, or scratch peeling skin.
- Pause retinoids, AHA/BHA chemical exfoliants, and physical scrubs for 7 to 10 days post-peel.
- Avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot showers, and heavy thermal workouts until peeling is complete.
Following the aftercare is part of the treatment. The outcome depends on it as much as on the sittings themselves.
