01What it is
Scalp Micro Pigmentation (SMP) is a specialized semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing technique that deposits precise micro-deposits of pigment into the dermal layer of the scalp. By meticulously replicating individual hair follicles, SMP creates the visual illusion of a fuller head of hair, camouflages thinning areas, defines receding hairlines, and softens the appearance of scars.
It is ideal for male and female pattern hair loss, diffuse thinning, widening parts, and post-hair-transplant scar coverage. Dermatologist-led pigment matching, needle depth precision, and natural hairline design ensure authentic-looking density that blends seamlessly with existing hair.
02A session, step by step
Hairline design and density mapping
Your dermatologist evaluates your hair loss pattern and maps out a natural hairline and follicle density plan tailored to your facial structure.
Scalp cleansing and prep
The scalp is thoroughly cleansed and sanitized with clinical antiseptic washes to ensure a sterile working field.
Precision follicle replication
Specialized organic pigments are deposited into the dermal layer using ultra-fine micro-needles to replicate natural stubble or follicle depth.
Calming seal and aftercare
The treated scalp is gently cleansed, a soothing protective lotion is applied, and follow-up session guidelines are reviewed.
03Aftercare
- Keep the scalp completely dry and avoid washing or shampooing for the first 3 to 4 days.
- Avoid heavy sweating, gym workouts, swimming pools, saunas, and steam rooms for 5 to 7 days.
- Apply a thin layer of recommended light moisturizer or healing balm if the scalp feels dry.
- Allow minor micro-scabs or flaking to shed naturally; strictly do not scratch, pick, or scrub the scalp.
- Protect your scalp from direct sun exposure by wearing a loose hat or applying SPF once fully healed.
Following the aftercare is part of the treatment. The outcome depends on it as much as on the sittings themselves.
